Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities (SSH): In this context describing the target research disciplines of the 8th theme under the Cooperation Programme of the 7th Framework Programme.

Specific Support Action (SSA): EU funded project which aims to enhance the participation of European and/or INCO countries-organisations in research projects under the various Framework Programmes. 

6th Framework Programme (FP6): The 6th Framework Programme (FP6) is part of the Framework Programmes which consist of the main financial tools through which the European Union supports research and development activities covering almost all scientific disciplines. The 6th Framework Programme has ended and covered the period between 2000-2006.

7th Framework Programme (FP7): The 7th Framework Programme (FP7) is part of the Framework Programmes which consist of the main financial tools through which the European Union supports research and development activities covering almost all scientific disciplines. The 7th Framework Programme is covering the period between 2007-2013.

National Contact Point (NCP): The network of National Contact Points is the main structure to provide guidance, practical information and assistance on all aspects of participation in the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).

Enterprise Europe Network (EEN): The Enterprise Europe Network is Europes largest  technology transfer network for SMEs and research organisations to enable transnational cooperation partnerships for commercialisation, R&D and common research projects.
